surgery has been scheduled

or, How The Universe Confirms That My Decisions Are The Right Ones

Finally got in touch with the surgery scheduler this morning.  She had open: the day before my birthday, the poet's birthday, or, oops, hey, we had a cancellation this Thursday, can you do it then?  In two days?

Me: FUCK YEAH.  Sign me up.  Let's get this show on the road.

I expect tons of emails and tweets and half gallons of ice cream healthy snacks coming my way while I recover.  I guess I'm going to have to tell my PT.  Eeks.

And, the support I got from everyone yesterday was phenomenal and I can't tell you guys how much it means to me.  Thank you.

  3. Oh no, I didn't get to read yesterday's post until today! I think you are amazing, you've kept it going even when you couldn't. After all this time without being able to do what you need to, I understand the necessity for surgery. I know you will pay attention to rehab and that will get you back sooner. Okay, I am thinking of you and I'll get updates from Liz on Thursday! Is it outpatient or will you be overnight?

  4. You're going under the knife - and as crazy as this sounds, I'm excited for you. I think you're absolutely right - it was meant to be :0
So, I'll need your address again since I'm a looser and didn't send that crap you won and maybe I can figure out how to send ice cream in the mail ;)

  5. I think you made an awesome-gut-churning-but-entirely-necessary decision. Good for you!

  6. Was secretly hoping you'd see miraculous improvement before this had to happen, but glad you are moving forward. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be after all your attempts to rehab it. You know I'll be there with mango margaritas and anything else you need for post-op recovery!

  8. Wow! Good luck and I'll be thinking of you. I think it's best just to do it as soon as possible. Gives you less time to think and worry about things. You'll do great!

  9. This was totally fate. I know it's a really hard process to go through, but you're going to do great during recovery.

  10. Same day I'm getting a crown put in. I don't know which is worse - dentist or surgeon?!? Crossing my fingers and toes for ya'!

  11. You did your research, weighed your options and made your decision, spending exactly the right amount of time contemplating the pros and cons. Now, there's nothing to do but get into the OR so you can get out and start healing! Looking forward to hearing about the whole process, which sounds totally fascinating to me as a chronic ITBS sufferer.
