three things thursday
1. I finally added green to my smoothie. It tastes a little bit different and I get green flecks in my teeth, but is still palatable. It looks like dinosaur poop, though, and had a very interesting and immediate effect to the sounds of my digestive system. Strange.
2. I recently had a swim date with Amy, and she was kind enough to watch me flail around in the water for a few minutes to make a list of all the things I'm doing wrong. Example A.
She filled my brain up with great drills and things to think about, and a few swims later, I'm still trying to work it all out. However, one of the drill she gave me for extending my reach (I think that is what it is for?) seems to have already sprinkled a magical unicorn on my swim. Wednesday mornings I do a 3x (some distance) TT swim, and yesterday morning I shaved about 4-5 seconds per 100 yards off of each effort. Amy, I owe you a big box of cookies.
3. All this rain is leaving me sweating my brains out on the trainer more often than not. This morning I had one of the better rides I've had, but then when I went outside for my T run, my Garmin didn't realize that I was outside and flip the GPS back on, which means that except for HR, I have no information from my run. RUDE. And it was raining so hard that I couldn't see the screen on my Garmin anyway, so I had to mostly go off of effort, and we all know that I've only been doing HR training for 3 weeks and definitely can't be trusted with any of this "perceived effort" crap. Sigh.
Happy Thursday, everyone! Are you tired of the rain washing away all the roads normally used for cycling, like me (I'm looking at you, Hains Point)? I wish we could send it all down to Texas.
