I had a decent ride, but it's easy to tell that my fitness has lost some depth. That feeling was magnified this morning on the run when, as usual, 45 seconds at race pace left me gasping and snorting and wondering how the F I'm going to do that for 2+ hours AFTER swimming and biking (spoiler: I'm not). Maybe I'll take bets on how badly I'll PW each distance. Ohhh, a BLOG CONTEST?! Sure, why not? Guess my times at each distance. Winner gets a beer/cupcake on me. Live far away? I'll mail you a pile of Gu. Hate Gu? How about a visor, un-sweated upon. Don't want to shade your precious eyes from the sun? Fine, I'll mail you Molly. Don't like golden retrievers? Then why, exactly, are you here?
Happy Wednesday!

AWE. Too cute! Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI could be totally rude and say "neener neener I'm done racing and I've eaten chocolate for breakfast instead of chlorine or bike grease because, did I mention, I am done?!" Or I can be super supportive and gently remind you of the week before Cedar Point where wine, Oreos, and cake made multiple appearances yet you kicked the crap out of that race. B2B is an awesome, flat, fast, beautiful venue and I think you might see some PRs instead of PWs. Enjoy your last race of the season!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, Molly! I took my girls out for a walk last night and there was a woman with 2 golden retreivers. I immediately thought of you even though she was one short. Her dogs were decidedly more well-behaved than my two. Oh, and we still need to organize a puppy play date!
ReplyDeleteI wanna win MOLLY!! :)
ReplyDeleteAt least you've been training. My only question is can I PW the Army 10 miler since the last time I ran it I had the dreaded BULGING DISC injury during?
Ironman is a peak. it takes a month to recover and then you start what looks like a decline for about the next 9 months. I'm just now starting to feel like I'm making gains again, and it's been a full year since my ironman. Embrace the downward slide with cupcakes and you'll be a lot happier. Speed will come back soon enough.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wed!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take a puppy in a visor please.
ReplyDeletethanks!
;)
Have fun, that is what matters. Time-schmime
Pretty sure you are going to stomp all over my 70.3 PR. :)
ReplyDeleteJust make sure you have fun out there!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the race and have lots of fun! I bet you will surprise yourself (for some reason I have a feeling that is another saying that you hate, but I said it anyway)!
ReplyDeleteWhat if I predict a non-PW on all the disciplines, do I still get a cupcake? Because I don't think you'll do as badly as you think you will.
ReplyDeleteYou will be fine! I bet you will be nothing more than 2 mins off on each discipline. And you will still look fantastic. I like strawberry banana gu! ;-)
ReplyDeleteif I'm the only one who guesses times, do I get Gu, a visor, Molly, and a fridge full of beer?
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna have an awesome, FUN race! Dang… could Molly be any cuter?! I swear it looks like she's about to start talking.
ReplyDeleteBecause I want to win Molly AND a beer:
ReplyDeleteSwim - 17 min. That sounds about right; you're pretty fast in the water.
Bike - 3:11 Because I like the band.
Run - 3:11 Because you're going to crab walk the whole thing so that you can match your bike time. Duh.
You have my address.
Can I win some bourbon instead?
