run this amazing day

1. I hate repeating myself. 2. I keep thinking about moving from blogger to WP, but then I start reading a ton of articles about how to do it and then I read some more articles and then I give up and go drink a beer.   3. I do not like sharing a lane with people doing breaststroke. 4. It's been a really long time since I've been to a yoga class, and I miss it, but I also think it was contributing to my bones-not-staying-where-I-put-them problem. 5. 1. The cranky weird sore spot I got on my shin a few weeks ago seems to have gone away.  I sticked the bejesus out of it for a few days, which was almost worse than the time I had my adductors Graston'd , and did the usual routine of alternating ice with constant panic about a stress fracture.  When I got back from my holiday travels, I went and saw my PT.  I've been having some tightness in my hamstring for a few weeks - really minor, but twinge-y on longer runs.  She diagnosed me with a tiny bit of tendonitis at the attachment, which is already almost gone with ice, advil, etc. - but also said that my sore spot on my shin was probably a byproduct of my lower leg working hard to compensate.  Strange, how the body is all connected.  So even though "ignore it and it will go away" would have probably worked in this case, I'd still rather spend the $15 to make sure that all my bones aren't collapsing. We took Molly and Graham to the vet a few weeks ago for their yearly round of pokes and prods.  They each got a handful of vaccinations, plus some tests done. A few days later, I noticed that Molly was doing this weird thing when she yawned - she couldn't open her mouth all the way, and she was twisting her head to one side.  I didn't really think much of it the first time I saw it, but after a couple of days went by and she was still doing it, I started to worry.  I figured she probably just had an ear infection and scheduled an appointment with our vet. I got out of the pool a few afternoons later to some pretty terrifying text messages from the poet , who took her into her appointment, mentioning things like sedation and x-rays and biopsies, so I zipped over myself to talk to the vet.  Essentially, she seemed fairly convinced from Molly's symptoms that she has a disease called masticatory myositis, which is an auto-immune disease not uncommon in large breed d...

Let's take a look at my December - and only  December - goals. December Goals Make sure to keep getting enough sleep and good food as training ramps back up.   Mostly check. Don't be afraid to ask for rest if you need it, but don't be a lazy bum. Check! Get the bike fit straightened out. Oops. Plan a mini-vacation for somewhere in the middle of IM training.  You'll appreciate it when it shows up. Our mini-vacation dollars are going instead to expanding our family.  That should be just as relaxing, right?
