I know there's a way to make my watch do this, but I haven't figured it out yet. HR training has begun.

handing it over

One of the first things I did after registering for Coeur d'Alene was make a giant list called "things to buy & do."  The goal was to figure out all the expenses so I could budget them over the next 11 months instead of getting hit hard in one month.  It included things like: a wetsuit (I'll actually need this for Poconos ), hotel reservations, a neoprene swim cap, etc.  "TT bike" with lots of question marks next to it.  And a coach. I've been running on and off with Capital Area Runners for about the last 9 months.  I'd never done any group training before I started running with this group, but I love it.  Motivation, support, camaraderie, and no stressed-out hidden feelings of competition, which is excellent when you are generally the caboose of any given workout.  You are where you are, and you work hard to try and get better, and that's that.  And George , the coach, is fantastic.  He's reasonable and conservative and understandi...

Steelman Triathlon: spectating report

People who take pictures of every meal they eat and every person they come across and every building they see really stress me out. 4. My favorite color when I was 12 was purple.  All my bike jerseys are purple, and I just bought a purple transition bag.  It matches the carpet that was in my little kid bedroom. 5. I think I am horribly un-photogenic, which is why I make strange faces in most pictures. 6. I've always wanted to be 5'10". 7. When I go grocery shopping, I take the exact same route through the store every time. 8. I swallow my gum. 9. I give people the finger a LOT while driving.  And while biking (see: this morning). 10. If I had kids, I would make them take piano lessons and be on the swim team until they were old enough to vote.  Molly could easily be on the swim team but I'm not so sure how the piano less...
